A Maintenance Helper or Assistant assists maintenance mechanics. Repairs and maintains equipment and machines, such as cars or heating systems. May assemble or adjust machines as directed by a head mechanic.
Custodial staff are responsible for providing janitorial and custodial services to maintain a clean, sanitary, neat, and professional appearance at the Army Reserve facility. Duties include routine and periodic cleaning, restocking supplies, waste removal, and ensuring all work is performed according to contract standards.
Key Responsibilities:
General Cleaning:
Sweep, dust mop, and damp mop floors (including stairways and entrances) Vacuum and spot clean carpets and entrance mats Strip, seal, polish, wax, and buff/burnish floors as required Clean interior and exterior windows and glass surfaces Low and high dusting of all surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
Restroom and Kitchen Cleaning:
Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, and restroom partitions Restock restroom supplies (toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, urinal screens, deodorant) Clean and polish restroom mirrors, glass, and metal fixtures Clean and disinfect kitchens, coffee messes, and drinking fountains Empty and sanitize sanitary receptacles
Waste Management:
Remove trash and recyclables from all designated areas Replace trash can liners as needed Deposit all waste in designated USARC collection containers
Special Tasks:
Clean staircases, stairwells, and elevators Maintain janitor closets in a clean and odor-free condition Report unusual soiling, needed repairs, or facility hazards to supervisor or COR/DR Use and store cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials in accordance with safety procedures and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) on site
Security and Compliance:
Sign in/out upon arrival and departure from the facility Wear company-issued identification badge at all times while on duty Follow all security, safety, and antiterrorism/OPSEC procedures as required by the Army Reserve and contract
Qualifications :
Prior experience in custodial/janitorial work preferred Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English Must complete Antiterrorism Level I and OPSEC Level I training within 30 days of hire Must pass background check and comply with all Army Reserve security requirements Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods
Pay:
$22.73 - $27.38 per hour
