Maintenance Worker/Custodian

Position Summary The Maintenance Worker/Custodian supports the Sail 250 event by ensuring all event areas remain clean, safe, and well-maintained throughout the duration of the event. This role is essential to providing a positive experience for guests, vendors, and staff by maintaining sanitation standards and responding promptly to maintenance needs. Key Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of event grounds, including public spaces, restrooms, vendor areas, and high-traffic zones Perform routine trash collection and disposal; replace liners as needed Sweep, mop, and pressure wash surfaces as required Monitor and address spills, hazards, or unsafe conditions promptly Assist with setup and breakdown of cleaning stations and related equipment Support minor maintenance tasks (e.g., light repairs, replacing bulbs, securing loose items) Coordinate with event staff and supervisors to address urgent cleaning or maintenance issues Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and event protocols Provide courteous assistance to guests when needed Qualifications Previous custodial, maintenance, or janitorial experience preferred Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong attention to detail and reliability Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Good communication and customer service skills Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the event Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (8-12 hour shifts) Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs Frequent bending, reaching, and carrying of materials and supplies Work Schedule Must be available June 19-June 23 Shifts may include early mornings, day shifts, evenings, and overnight coverage
