Equipment Manager - Large Fleet Operations Hulcher Services | Multi-Location | Travel Required
LARGE FLEET MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
This role requires hands-on leadership experience managing a large, multi-location equipment fleet . Candidates without significant fleet or heavy equipment management experience will not be considered. The Opportunity Hulcher Services is seeking a driven Equipment Manager to oversee and strengthen our preventative maintenance, inspection, compliance, and cost-control programs across multiple divisions. You'll play a key leadership role ensuring fleet readiness, reliability, safety, and compliance —while working closely with Mechanical Service Managers, vendors, and operations leadership across the organization. About Hulcher Services Hulcher Services is an industry leader with 500+ employees and 25+ divisions across the U.S. and Mexico. We support customers with railroad derailments, engineering services, track maintenance, disaster response, and environmental projects . What You'll Do Fleet & Maintenance Oversight Monitor and enforce preventative maintenance programs across divisions Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with company and operational standards Review oil samples, repair orders, exception reports, and maintenance trends Partner with Mechanical and Division leadership to reduce maintenance exceptions Purchasing & Cost Control Review equipment parts and service requisitions for accuracy and compliance Ensure invoices are properly documented and coded Enforce purchasing policies (including quote requirements) Assist with sourcing materials, supplies, and services at competitive pricing Leadership & Compliance Support and develop Mechanical Service Managers Ensure compliance with transportation, safety, and equipment policies Review operational records and reports for deviations Investigate incidents and inspect equipment to protect company assets Vendor & Manufacturer Coordination Stay current on manufacturer specifications, warranties, and programs Consult with vendors on repairs, maintenance standards, and improvements Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable) ✔ 5+ years of fleet or heavy equipment management experience ✔ Proven experience managing a large, multi-location equipment fleet ✔ 5+ years of mechanical experience and/or training ✔ Minimum 2 years managing multiple locations and maintaining budgets ✔ Intermediate leadership experience in fleet/equipment management ✔ Experience working with preventative maintenance programs ✔ Safety-related experience (6 months-1 year)
Travel & Work Expectations Travel:
