As a key player in our logistics operations, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving, and delivering freight efficiently and securely. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials, and diverse cargo types will ensure our deliveries meet the highest safety and quality standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. Duties Safely operate Class A commercial trucks with manual and automatic transmissions on local, regional, or OTR routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Transport a variety of freight including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized cargo while ensuring proper load securing and handling. Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor delivery schedules, and adjust routes as needed for efficiency. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment, ensuring cargo safety and compliance with logistics cargo handling procedures. Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, verifying delivery details, obtaining signatures, and managing documentation in accordance with hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Maintain vehicle inspection logs, report any mechanical issues promptly, and perform routine safety checks to ensure vehicle roadworthiness. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries, provide updates on delivery status, and resolve any route or cargo issues swiftly. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with proven experience operating both manual and automatic transmission trucks. Demonstrated experience with refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker trucks, flatbeds, or automobile transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks safely while managing logistics cargo handling procedures. Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for route planning on OTR routes or local deliveries. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety compliance during long-haul or route driving assignments. Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks related to load & unload operations; must be able to lift heavy cargo when necessary. Flexibility to work varied schedules including overnight trips or extended periods on the road as required by over-the-road routes.
