Cal Coast Machinery, Inc., is a locally owned company that sells and services agricultural, lawn, garden, and homeowner equipment, as well as carries a complete supply of parts for these types of equipment and more.

Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm (1-hr lunch)
Compensation:
$27-$35 per hour, based on experience. This position does not pay commission. Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Purpose Oversee the workflow in the service department from customer interactions to repair completion and invoicing. Collaborate with the service manager to enhance labor performance by boosting service labor sales and technician productivity. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate appointments and manage the service department's calendar; handle incoming calls for the service department
  • Oversee the entire work order cycle, from creation to closing and invoicing for customer work and warranties
  • Provides guidance and generates quotes for customer machine repairs
  • Sell service labor and parts, ensuring technicians are highly productive to meet budgets and goals
  • Collaborate with the service manager to identify and implement continuous process improvements
  • Communicate, enforce, and monitor effective service department processes to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Schedule and assign jobs to service department employees, including outside technicians, ensuring efficient allocation based on their skills and availability.
  • Review work orders for completeness and accuracy before customer billing
  • Ensure all service warranty and product improvement programs are completed and submitted to the warranty administrator within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit
  • Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to develop skills and knowledge
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and provide exemplary customer service
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations when performing work assignments
  • Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • Perform all other duties assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge
  • 3+ years of experience working in a service department or equivalent experience
  • Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred
  • Team oriented and self-motivated; able to work with little supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage others
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms preferred
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associate degree preferred Any job offer made will be contingent on the candidate's successful completion of a background and DMV check, physical exam, and drug screen (which includes an oral swab screening for active impairment/THC).
