Maintenance Manager Pay:
$90,000-$100,000 per year,

San Marcos, CA | On-Site Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations for greenhouse, production, processing, packaging, and facility environments. This individual will lead the maintenance team while ensuring equipment, systems, and facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in maintenance management, process improvement, preventive maintenance, and team development. This position requires someone who can balance strategic planning with a boots-on-the-ground leadership style. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily maintenance operations for facilities, equipment, production areas, and support buildings Lead, train, mentor, and schedule maintenance technicians and support staff Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment, vehicles, and facility systems Implement and manage a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) Develop maintenance policies, procedures, and systems to improve department efficiency Manage capital improvement projects and equipment upgrades Troubleshoot mechanical and facility issues and respond to emergency repairs to minimize downtime Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history Manage spare parts, tools, materials, and maintenance inventory Coordinate with outside vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliers Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Identify performance gaps and implement solutions focused on continuous improvement Foster a positive, accountable, safety-focused team environment Qualifications & Experience 3-5+ years of maintenance management experience, including experience leading teams Fluent in English and Spanish — speaking, reading, and writing required Experience in greenhouse, agriculture, horticulture, or controlled-environment facilities preferred Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems Knowledge of machines, tools, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance Understanding of building/construction materials, methods, tools, and facility repair Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to resolve issues under time-sensitive conditions Demonstrated success leading, mentoring, and training employees Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills Process improvement and systems-focused mindset Ability to collaborate effectively across departments Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to overcome obstacles and remain focused on results These qualifications align with the experience and technical requirements listed in the original job description. Physical & Work Environment Requirements This is a hands-on, on-site position that may require standing, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, and working with tools and equipment. The position may occasionally require lifting and/or moving up to 90 pounds. The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, vibration, hot and cold temperatures, and dusty or muddy conditions.
