Shop Foreman / Mechanic Highway 38 Dumpsters & Restrooms, Inc. is seeking a dependable, hands-on Shop Foreman / Mechanic to lead our shop operations and help keep our fleet, equipment, property, and rental inventory in safe, working order. This is a leadership-level role for someone who takes initiative, stays organized, communicates clearly, and can balance mechanical repairs with day-to-day shop and property responsibilities. Position ResponsibilitiesEquipment & Vehicle Maintenance Perform maintenance and repairs on roll-off trucks, service trucks, tractors, lawn mowers, trailers, tools, and other company equipment. Complete tire maintenance and replacement as needed. Perform occasional maintenance on personal vehicles when directed. Report all truck maintenance to your supervisor for electronic recordkeeping. Handle road calls, including assisting with vehicles that are stuck or otherwise disabled. Shop & Property Upkeep Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient shop. Stock, organize, and monitor parts inventory. Manage shop rags and laundry. Prepare and manage salt brine during winter months. Refill the water softener and maintain general shop utilities. Keep the driveway and yard orderly and clear of trash, nails, and debris. Perform mowing, weed eating, and general property maintenance. Notify supervisors when oil, parts, or other replenishable supplies are running low. Portable Restroom Operations Maintain portable restroom inventory in the yard. Repair damaged portable restroom units. Power wash and deep clean units before seasonal deployment. Assist with portable restroom routes when needed. Power wash and deep clean long-term rental units, including algae removal from roofs. Dumpster Maintenance Perform occasional welding repairs and painting. Apply dumpster stickers and numbering. Power wash and dig out dumpsters as needed. Leadership & Operations Delegate tasks as needed, particularly when major equipment repairs require primary attention. Oversee staff and manage operations when company leadership is away. Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members to keep work moving efficiently. Additional Responsibilities Assist with basic maintenance needs at company rental properties as needed. Maintain the firewood supply. Perform other duties as assigned. Opportunity for future CDL schooling may be available for candidates interested in operating a CDL roll-off truck. Qualifications Mechanical experience with trucks, trailers, equipment, and general repairs. Ability to diagnose problems, prioritize repairs, and work independently. Welding, painting, power-washing, and basic property-maintenance experience preferred. Strong organization, accountability, and communication skills. Ability to lead others, delegate appropriately, and maintain professional standards. Ability to perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor conditions. Clean driving record in the previous 3 years Valid Driver's License Dependable, and willing to work hard

Pay:

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
