The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for stewardship of the university's physical properties across 1.1m square feet of building space. This includes academic, athletic, performing arts, residential, administrative facilities and a steam plant. The purpose of this position is to manage the operation, maintenance, repair, and long-term stewardship of the building systems and infrastructure that support the university's missions. This role oversees maintenance planning, service delivery, and system reliability of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building-operating systems within campus buildings Ensure maintenance services are delivered safely and effectively, in alignment with university standards, customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Lead maintenance planning for HVAC , electrical, plumbing and roof capital renewal projects to ensure maintainability, reliability, and lifecycle performance. Facilitate coordination among internal stakeholders, external engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Oversees invoicing with steam plant vendors and authorize purchases for plant supplies and equipment Provide supervision and developement for carpenters and painters, building a high-performing team. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance operations including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance supervision or managerial role Demonstrated ability to manage/coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of budgeting and financial management in a maintenance context. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office and Google Suites. Proficiency with building automation system controls Experience with large HVAC replacement and retrocommissioning projects Experience in hiring and firing & contract negotiation
EEO Statement Compensation:
Annual wage is $65,000 - $85,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
