Job Description

Title:
Director of Maintenance Location:
Exeter, NH Compensation:
$120-150k, paid weekly About the Role We are seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead our maintenance department end to end. This is a senior operating role with full ownership of the department: its financial performance, shop network, people, and customers. You will be accountable for departmental operations and will have the authority and support to run the department effectively. A significant part of this role involves bringing newly acquired operations onto common systems and standards without losing momentum in the shops.
What You Will Own P&L Responsibility:
Full oversight of revenue growth, gross margin, cost control, and EBITDA performance against plan.
Operational Leadership:
Drive throughput, cycle time, quality, warranty management, and technician productivity across the shop network.
Team Development:
Staff, develop, and hold accountable the department's leadership team and workforce, including hiring and performance decisions.
Customer Retention:
Ensure customer satisfaction across fleet maintenance and heavy-truck repair accounts while growing service revenue.
Compliance & Safety:
Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, regulatory compliance, and operating policies.
Systems Integration:
Onboard newly acquired service operations onto unified systems, processes, and standards. What We Are Looking For Progressive leadership experience in heavy-duty truck service, fleet maintenance, dealership service operations, or a comparable multi-technician environment. Demonstrated P&L ownership with a track record of improving margins and achieving growth plans. Proven success leading multi-location teams, including hiring, staff development, and performance management. Strong command of shop operating metrics (labor hours sold, effective labor rate, comeback rate, warranty recovery, and technician utilization). Comfort operating in an actively growing company where processes and systems are being standardized. Willingness to travel to regional locations as required.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$120,000 - $150,000 per year (Paid weekly)
Quarterly Incentive:
Target award of 25% of departmental EBITDA above a 10% margin each quarter
