The State Maintenance Bureau (SMB) is responsible for coordination of statewide policies and procedures associated with District patrols. SMB provide the tools needs for the patrols to complete their work safety and effectively ensuring the quality control results in long lasting results. The work completed by all the patrols assists the motoring public in using the public transportation system safely and with minimal delay. SMB also coordinates and creates numerous price agreements using statewide for contracting maintenance work and purchasing maintenance materials. SMB is also responsible for the oversight of the Approved Products List (APL) which reduces future maintenance by reviewing and approving products to be used in the construction of the transportation network by contractors or NMDOT maintenance crews. As a valued new employee to NMDOT, you may be eligible to received three (3) days of administrative leave upon your start date. This is applicable to external hires not within the State of New Mexico Government. Why does the job exist? This position oversees the State Maintenance Bureau's Product Evaluation Program Statewide Price Agreement Program and provides Support for Maintenance Operations Statewide as needed. How does it get done? The primary responsibilities of this position will include: Oversee the Product Evaluation Evaluation Program and Statewide Price Agreement Program. Provide support for all maintenance activities in conjunction with the Maintenance Operations Engineer. Who are the customers? The Districts and Bureaus who utilize either the Statewide Price Agreement or the Approved Products List (APL). Ideal Candidate The Districts and Bureaus who utilize either the Statewide Price Agreement or the Approved Products List (APL). Minimum Qualification High School Diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years of relevant experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment. Employment requires successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam and is conditional pending results. Business Reference check and Driver's License verification are required, and employment is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is generally performed in an office setting with field work in varying weather conditions on multiple projects. May work extended hours and state wide travel including some overnight travel will be required. Sitting/standing/driving for extended periods of time and extended periods of work at a computer terminal with some bending may be required. Lifting up to fifty pounds may be required.
