Position Overview & Purpose Spanco designs, manufactures, and markets overhead traveling cranes and monorails. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining all equipment, the building, and property of Spanco. Primary Job Functions Maintain a clean and safe workplace at all times Follow existing maintenance schedules Perform required job tasks per maintenance schedules Adjust maintenance schedules based on years of service and/or upgrades/repairs Add/Remove items in maintenance program Coordinate scheduling with outside contractors for work performed externally Train other Production staff on proper daily and/or weekly maintenance guidelines Perform and/or coordinate general building maintenance in both the office and shop areas Perform and/or coordinate property upkeep Perform weekly and monthly safety walk-throughs and evaluations Manage other maintenance department employees/interns Additional Job Functions Work directly with the Production Office on equipment upgrades and installs Calculate and communicate life expectancy of equipment and upgrade timeframes Aid Engineering Department in R&D testing projects Calibrate all measurement equipment to ISO standards Drive company truck for maintenance and/or production related job duties Required Skills Excellent communication skills Exceptional organization Ability to work quickly and accurately Excellent problem solving ability Outstanding mechanical aptitude Adaptability to a constantly changing work environment Familiarity with common computer programs (Office, web explorers, digital maintenance guides) Forklift operation Overhead crane operation Boom lift/scissor lift operation Industrial wiring and simple drive control experience Experience Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing maintenance department role Prior maintenance management preferred but not required Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Technical certification preferred but not required Physical Requirements The position requires standing for extended periods of time and periodic kneeling and back bending The heaviest amount of weight lifted is 30 lbs. Overhead cranes and fork trucks are required to be used to lift any material exceeding 30 lbs. Work is performed under some temperature variation due to annual seasonality Work Environment The workplace is an industrial factory environment
