Job Description

The Install Manager leads the installation department for outdoor living structures and studios. This role ensures customers receive clear communication and a professional installation experience; install crews arrive prepared, work safely, and complete jobs correctly; the schedule is reliable; issues are resolved quickly; trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment are ready for every job; and crews are accountable, well-led, and continually improving.

The Install Manager owns crew performance, installation scheduling, field support, installation issues and returns, fleet readiness, and team accountability. Key Responsibilities 1. Manage Install Crews Lead, train, coach, and hold installation crews and Crew Leads accountable. Set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, jobsite cleanliness, and customer service. Ensure crews understand the job scope, site requirements, materials, and customer expectations before leaving for each install. Address attendance, performance, behavior, safety, and quality issues quickly. Build capable Crew Leads who can run jobs independently. 2. Own & Execute the Install Schedule Execute installation schedule on-time. Assign the proper crew, truck, tools, equipment, materials, and time to each job. Confirm each job is ready before scheduling: materials, site access, customer readiness, permits, foundation/pad, and special requirements. Communicate schedule changes early to crews, customers, Sales, Production, and other affected teams. Plan ahead for weather, crew capacity, geography, job complexity, and customer commitments. 3. Provide In-Field Crew Support Regularly visit jobsites to support crews, inspect work, and reinforce standards. Help solve field problems involving site conditions, installation methods, materials, customer concerns, or equipment. Support complex, high-value, new-product, or at-risk installations. Ensure crews document completed work, site conditions, damages, missing material, and customer requests. Identify recurring field problems and improve training, checklists, installation methods, or internal handoffs. 4. Own Install Issues & Returns Receive, prioritize, document, and resolve installation issues, punch-list items, damage claims, returns, and rework. Assign ownership and deadlines for every open issue. Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams until the issue is fully resolved. Identify root causes, including installation errors, missing materials, production defects, sales handoff errors, or site conditions. Reduce repeat issues, return trips, rework, and customer frustration. 5. Manage Install Truck Fleet Ensure installation trucks, trailers, tools, lifts, and equipment are safe, clean, stocked, organized, and ready each day. Enforce daily inspections, damage reporting, fuel, cleanliness, and tool-control standards. Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs. Track vehicle and equipment downtime, damage, maintenance needs, and missing tools. Recommend replacement or additional vehicles and equipment as capacity requires. 6. Leadership, Management & Accountability Lead the installation department using EOS tools: Scorecard, Rocks, Issues List, and weekly Level 10 meetings. Set clear priorities and measurable expectations for Crew Leads and crews. Review key metrics weekly, identify issues early, and solve root causes. Hold regular one-on-ones and provide direct feedback, coaching, and recognition. Work closely with Sales, Production, Delivery, Service, Purchasing, and Leadership to improve the customer experience and installation results.   • 3-5+ years of experience leading installation crews, construction crews, field service teams, delivery teams, or similar operational teams.
  • Experience installing or managing the installation of outdoor living structures, sheds, garages, studios, pavilions, pergolas, decks, modular buildings, or comparable construction products is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience scheduling multiple crews, coordinating jobsite logistics, and managing changing priorities.
  • Experience supervising employees, coaching Crew Leads, conducting performance reviews, and holding team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
  • Experience reading work orders, site plans, construction drawings, measurements, and installation instructions.
  • Experience troubleshooting jobsite issues involving site access, foundations or pads, materials, equipment, customer concerns, and installation quality.
  • Experience managing service calls, punch-list items, warranty work, returns, rework, or customer issue resolution.
  • Experience managing work trucks, trailers, tools, lifts, or other field equipment, including inspections, maintenance, repair coordination, and inventory control.
  • Working knowledge of construction safety practices, jobsite safety requirements, trailer safety, lifting and rigging, and safe use of power tools and installation equipment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage crews in the field while coordinating effectively with Sales, Production, Delivery, Service, and Leadership.
  • Comfortable using scheduling software, mobile job documentation, spreadsheets, email, and operational scorecards.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to tow trailers and operate installation-related vehicles or equipment is preferred.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
