Job Description

Overview GMScapes LLC is seeking an experienced Landscape Crew Leader to lead a professional landscape installation crew. We specialize in landscape enhancements and installations, including planting, mulch, decorative rock, drainage systems, seasonal cleanups, and property improvements throughout the Richmond area. This is a hands-on leadership position. You'll lead by example, work alongside your crew, and ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the high standards our customers expect. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a landscape installation crew on residential and commercial projects. Install trees, shrubs, flowers, sod, mulch, decorative rock, landscape edging, and other landscape enhancements. Install drainage systems, including French drains, catch basins, downspout extensions, and drain pipe. Perform seasonal pruning, shrub trimming, leaf removal, and landscape cleanups. Read work orders and ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet company quality standards. Operate landscaping equipment including skid steers, mini skid steers, compact equipment, chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, and other landscaping tools safely. Drive company trucks and pull trailers to and from job sites. Train, mentor, and motivate crew members while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Communicate professionally with customers when needed. Maintain company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment. Participate in winter snow removal operations, including plowing, shoveling, and ice management. Availability during snow events is required. Skills Minimum of 3 years of landscape installation experience. Previous Crew Leader or Foreman experience preferred. Experience with planting, mulch installation, decorative rock installation, drainage systems, grading, pruning, and seasonal landscape work. Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and power tools. Valid driver's license required. Experience driving a truck and trailer. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Willingness to work during winter snow events as part of our snow removal team. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
