Job Description

A&P Lead Bay City, WI Contract Contract Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P) Overview An established private aviation maintenance organization is seeking an experienced Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P) to join its growing team in western Wisconsin, less than 45 minutes from the St. Paul metropolitan area. This organization supports a global fleet of over 300 business aircraft, including light, super mid-size, long-range, and ultra-long-range platforms. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational excellence across a diverse fleet of business jets. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced technician looking to take the next step in their career by mentoring junior technicians, coordinating maintenance activities, and serving as a technical lead within the maintenance team.
Schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with one weekend rotation per month (subject to change). This is a full-time, onsite position. Key Responsibilities Lead and support maintenance activities on business aircraft, including Citation, Gulfstream, and Challenger platforms. Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and support personnel. Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures. Review and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Conduct operational and functional testing to verify aircraft system performance and airworthiness. Collaborate with maintenance management and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion. Promote a strong safety culture and maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization within the hangar. Support AOG events and occasional travel requirements as needed. Qualifications Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required. Minimum of 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, preferably within a Part 145 Repair Station environment. Previous experience leading maintenance teams, acting as a lead technician, or mentoring junior mechanics is highly preferred. Strong working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Experience on business jet aircraft, particularly Citation, Gulfstream, and Challenger platforms, is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical data, and aircraft schematics. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends, overtime, and travel assignments. Additional Requirements Reliable transportation to and from the work location. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based systems. Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, on aircraft wings, and operate maintenance equipment, lifts, and tugs. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
