Job Description
MACHINE SHOP TECHNICIAN
Whallon Machinery Inc. is looking for a dependable, hands-on Machine Shop Technician to join our team. We build and service custom industrial machinery used by manufacturers throughout the United States and around the world. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can read a tape measure and drawings, and enjoys building things that actually go to work in the real world. What You'll Do- Operate manual lathes and milling machines
- Operate a CNC plasma table
- Cut, drill, machine, and fabricate steel and other materials
- Read and understand mechanical drawings
- Measure parts using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
- Perform general machine-shop and fabrication work
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work with other members of the Whallon Machinery team to build and complete custom equipment What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience operating manual machine-shop equipment
- Be able to read basic mechanical drawings
- Be comfortable using hand tools and measuring equipment
- Have good mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot problems
- Be dependable and willing to learn
- Take pride in doing quality work
- Be able to work independently while also being part of a team Previous machine-shop experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who has mechanical aptitude, a good work ethic, and a willingness to learn. Schedule Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM No rotating shifts. No overnight shifts. Pay $18-$28 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits
