JOB TITLE
Refrigeration Engineer Operator
REPORTS TO
Refrigeration Supervisor
LOCATION
Quincy, WA
NATURE AND SCOPE
The Refrigeration Operator will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and operating industrial refrigeration equipment; including, but not limited to, freeze tunnels, compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors and pumps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and record various operating parameters (e.g., temperatures, pressures, etc.) of refrigeration system. Monitor quality of product discharged from freeze tunnels Perform preventative maintenance and repair refrigeration equipment. Perform inspections, testing and maintenance tasks on refrigeration equipment. Operate refrigerant pumps, compressors, condensers, chillers, freeze tunnels, and other refrigeration equipment Perform routine checks on equipment. Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, P&IDs and IOM manuals. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) Communicate and interact with all employees in a respectful and professional manner. Keep legible, detailed, and accurate records and logs Participate in regular safety trainings Follow company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Practice good housekeeping at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree/certification in HVAC/R preferred. Ability to obtain/maintain RETA certification. Current CARO or CIRO certificate (preferred) Industrial refrigeration experience (ammonia) Experience in cold storage and controlled atmosphere rooms is beneficial Excellent mechanical and electrical skills. Mechanical aptitude. Read, write, speak and understand English. Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor. Maintain good attendance. Able to work various shifts. Ability to wear a full-face air-purifying respirator. Furnish own personal hand tools and keep clean and in good repair.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sit, bend, crawl, twist, balance, stand, squat, climb stairs/ladders, crouch, walk (possibly on uneven grounds), kneel, stoop, push, and pull. Push and pull at various heights. Reach from waist to shoulder heights frequently. Manual and finger dexterity. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Have good vision and hearing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work in hot, cold and noisy environments, inside and outside. Work above and below floor levels. Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electric shock; and vibration. May occasionally work in narrow passageways and at protected heights. Frequently work on wet/slippery floors.

$30.24 - $37.40 per hour
