Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect commercial roofing systems to identify leaks, damage, and potential problem areas.
- Troubleshoot and locate sources of roof leaks and water infiltration.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on commercial roofing systems.
- Install and repair roof membrane, flashing, seams, penetrations, curbs, drains, and other roofing components.
- Remove damaged roofing materials and prepare surfaces for repairs.
- Apply roofing adhesives, sealants, coatings, and waterproofing materials as required.
- Perform minor carpentry and substrate repairs associated with roofing systems.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Operate ladders, lifts, and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly secure tools and materials.
- Complete service reports documenting work performed, materials used, and additional conditions or repairs identified.
- Identify additional repair or maintenance needs and communicate findings to management.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and job-site safety procedures.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
Requirements:
- Previous professional experience in commercial roofing service and repair.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and repair techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose roof leaks and roofing deficiencies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to take verbal direction in English and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and from Mobile Elevated Work Platforms.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry roofing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Professional appearance and ability to represent the company in a positive manner.
Preferred Experience:
- EPDM, TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, and built-up roofing systems.
- Commercial roof leak investigation and troubleshooting.
- Roof coatings and waterproofing systems.
- Sheet metal and flashing repairs.
- Gutter and drainage system repairs.
- Basic carpentry and roofing substrate repairs.
- Experience working from service vehicles and managing tools/materials in the field.
