Job Description
We are a local Propane Company, with over 30 years of Propane installation & delivery experience. We are seeking a Serviceman, who will safely install Propane (LP) Gas to our Residential, Commercial & Industrial customer tanks & cylinders. We are looking for someone with a strong mechanical background who can trouble-shoot, diagnose & make repairs, as well as deliver propane. Job Summary:
The Propane Service & Installation Technician is a key position that resolves around providing the highest standards of service to our customers while maintaining an focus on safety and regulatory compliance. Daily duties are varied, and the ideal candidate has a high degree of self-motivation and is able to work independently with minimal supervision. A high degree of teamwork is essential as the position must interact closely with our customer service representatives and delivery drivers to ensure that our customers get the level of quality and service that sets us apart from out competition.Job Responsibilities:
This position requires a self-motivated team member who will provide positive energy, communicate effectively and help us achieve company goals and objectives.- Install above ground and below ground propane systems at customer locations ranging from large residential homes to commercial locations
- Service existing customer locations: troubleshooting & repairing propane systems; performing leaks checks; and system startups
- Backup propane delivery route driver to help handle peak demand periods (e.g., winter months)
- Accurately complete work orders, manage truck inventory and assist with general operations tasks
- Operate consistently with a safety first mindset with an focus on the safety of our customers, team members, communities, and strict compliance propane safety regulations
- Safely operate propane service truck, trencher and mini-excavator
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Texas Railroad Commission Propane Service & Installation Technician & or Propane Bobtail Driver
- Class A with X Endorsement (Hazmat, Tanker, Airbrakes)
- DOT Drug Screen & DOT Physical
- Must be 21 or older
- Bilingual a Plus
- Propane Experience preferred but not required, will train and provide assistance for licensing exams.
Education and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma
- Good technology and mechanical/technical aptitude
- Able to learn service work paperwork processes
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and climbing in and out of the truck and doing service/installation work.
- Able to safely operate the equipment required for the position (as noted above)
