Service Technician & Accessibility Equipment Installer Freedom Mobility LLC is seeking a dependable, professional, and mechanically inclined Service Technician & Installer to join our growing team. This position involves the installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair of accessibility equipment in residential and commercial settings. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with their hands, solving problems, working independently, and providing professional service to our customers. Responsibilities Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair accessibility equipment, including: Stairlifts Wheelchair and modular ramps Vertical platform lifts Residential accessibility lifts/elevators Handrails and grab bars Other accessibility products offered by Freedom Mobility Perform light construction, carpentry, drilling, anchoring, assembly, and basic modification work as required for installations. Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Safely load, unload, move, and install equipment. Maintain a clean and professional work area. Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers. Follow company installation procedures and safety requirements. Diagnose equipment problems and complete service and repair work. Maintain tools, equipment, and installation materials. Requirements Reliable transportation is required. Must be dependable and able to maintain a flexible work schedule. Must be able to pass a background check. Professional appearance and attitude. Mechanically inclined with basic construction and hand/power tool experience. Ability to work independently and problem-solve in the field. Comfortable working outdoors and in residential environments. Must be able to safely lift and maneuver equipment weighing up to 150 lbs., with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary. Valid driver's license and safe driving habits. Must be willing to travel to customer locations throughout our service area. Position Details This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Scheduling will vary depending on installation and service demand, so flexibility is important. Fuel/gas assistance may be provided depending on the location and distance of assigned jobs. Selected candidates will be required to sign applicable confidentiality/NDA and restrictive-covenant agreements as permitted by law. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, shows up when scheduled, communicates well, and treats customers and their homes with respect. Experience with stairlifts, platform lifts, elevators, accessibility equipment, electrical/mechanical equipment, HVAC, construction, maintenance, or similar field-service work is a plus, but we are willing to consider mechanically skilled candidates who can learn.
