We offer service shop, parts dept, boatyard with dockage and a working environment with great people! Overview & Responsibilities The Marine/Service Technician is responsible for the repair and overhaul of boats, yachts and its machinery. Diagnose, test, repair, replace, remove, and install marine engines, ship's systems, electronics and electrical equipment. Mechanical knowledge of Mercury & Yamaha outboards, gas and diesel engines. Assess projects, budget time, determine/source parts required Ability to commission all types of vessels. Examine boat and discuss the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service writer, yard manager or customer. Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines both under and not under manufactures warranty, hydraulic systems, pumps, fresh, grey and black water systems, steering, running gear, shafts, props, alignments, shaft/ rudder seals, water makers and electrical components. Perform mechanical repair work such as: Remove engine, transom or outdrive, disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear, replace batteries, blowers, generators, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems, rewire lighting systems and distribution panels. Install and repair accessories such as radios, ac/dc systems and deck equipment Operate a hydraulic jack or hoist as needed. Complete repair work within the established timeframe Ensure all warranty work is completed according to manufacturer's guidelines. Safely operate customer vessels during diagnostic water testing operations. Maintain tools in good condition and according to guidelines. Other duties as assigned Maintain 100% productivity Reports to: Yard Manager.
