DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Removes vessels from water, using movable lift crane or marine railway. Positions and secures blocking at bottom and sides of vessels according to size, weight, and weight distribution of vessels, using fasteners, handtools, and power tools. Removes flaked paint, barnacles, and encrusted debris from hulls of vessel, using scrapers, scrubbers, power washers, and sandblast equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Ability to operate a tow motor, assist with travel lift and movable lift crane Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The shops and outdoor areas may be noisy and dirty. Safety measures must be taken when working with hand and power tools, fiberglass, resins, and other chemicals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting (up to 60 lbs.), balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

HOURS & TRAVEL

Full and/or part time. Travel to local yacht clubs and marinas.
