Duties Diagnose issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes of engine or equipment failures Perform repairs on small engines, including tune-ups, part replacements, and complete overhauls with precision and attention to detail Conduct routine maintenance on equipment such as generators, power tools, and heavy machinery to extend lifespan and improve reliability Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other specialized tools to execute repairs efficiently Troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical components in diverse equipment including diesel engines and power generation systems Follow safety protocols during manual handling, heavy lifting, soldering, and other physically demanding tasks Maintain detailed service records, parts inventories, and repair documentation for each job performed Qualifications Proven service technician background working with small engines or automotive repair is highly preferred Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience reading schematics and electrical diagrams Hands-on experience with gas operated engine repair, electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering devices, and other technical tools necessary for repairs Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling protocols Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally Familiarity with gas operated equipment or similar heavy machinery is a plus Certifications related to automotive or small engine repair are advantageous but not mandatory Embark on a rewarding journey where your technical expertise makes a real difference!
