Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Small Engine Mechanic to join our dynamic service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Your expertise will help customers get back to work or play with reliable, well-maintained equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of machinery, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators, and other small engine-powered tools. The ideal candidate is passionate about mechanical systems, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where quality workmanship is valued. Duties Diagnose issues with small engines and related equipment using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical inspection techniques Perform repairs on a wide range of small engines including lawnmowers, snow blowers, generators, and power tools Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, carburetor cleaning, and belt adjustments Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other specialized tools to complete repairs efficiently Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical diagnostics to identify faults in wiring or components Follow safety protocols during manual handling and heavy lifting tasks to ensure a safe working environment Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair status clearly with customers and team members Skills Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or automotive repair background preferred Strong mechanical knowledge of 2 stroke, and mechanical systems repair Familiarity with schematics, electrical work, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting equipment issues Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering devices, and other maintenance tools Excellent customer service skills to explain repairs clearly and provide professional guidance Physical ability for heavy lifting and manual handling of equipment in a busy shop environment Must have own tools, all shop tools, and equipment provided Join our team if you're eager to apply your mechanical expertise in a lively setting where your skills make a real difference!
