Job Location Monterey County, California Job Type Temporary / Project-Based Night Shift Job Description YX Calrise Builder, Inc. is hiring an experienced thermoplastic striping and pavement marking worker for an upcoming Caltrans public works project in Monterey County. We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on experience operating a thermoplastic handliner and thermoplastic pre-melter/melting kettle. This is not an entry-level position. Responsibilities Operate a thermoplastic handliner safely and efficiently. Operate and monitor the thermoplastic pre-melter/melting kettle. Apply thermoplastic traffic stripes and pavement markings. Work with 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch striping dies. Control thermoplastic material temperature and application thickness. Apply glass beads properly during striping operations. Assist with pavement marking layout, equipment setup, cleanup, and maintenance. Work safely within highway traffic-control closures. Perform night work as required. Requirements Previous thermoplastic striping and pavement marking experience is required. Must be able to independently operate a thermoplastic handliner. Must be able to independently operate a thermoplastic pre-melter or melting kettle. Caltrans or other public works experience is required. Must understand proper thermoplastic material temperature and glass bead application. Must be available for night shifts. Must be able to travel to and work in Monterey County. Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a highway construction crew. Valid driver's license is preferred. Compensation California prevailing wage and applicable fringe benefits will be paid based on the proper work classification.
