Looking for a hands-on job that gets you outdoors and gives you every Friday off? Excellent opportunity to work with the Highway District Starting pay: $19.00 per hour Monday-Thursday | 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week Paid, hands-on training provided Immediate openings available Work with a supportive, team-oriented road construction crew Gain valuable highway maintenance and construction experience Great seasonal opportunity with long-term potential
Duties:
Assist with chip seal road maintenance and paving operations Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices for safe work zones Use rakes and shovels to spread and finish materials around edges, utility covers, and hard-to-reach areas Support roller and equipment operators as needed throughout the day Move vehicles and equipment to help keep projects on schedule Perform basic troubleshooting and minor equipment maintenance when appropriate Walk long distances throughout the workday while working in active traffic zones and road rights-of-way Work safely around heavy highway construction equipment, including dump trucks, rollers, and chip spreaders Assist the crew with a variety of tasks to complete projects efficiently and safely Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Valid driver's license required Must be able to pass a drug screening Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds Enjoy working outdoors in a team-oriented environment Ability to follow directions, procedures, and job specifications Commitment to workplace safety and safe equipment operation Comfortable working 10-hour shifts outdoors in varying weather conditions
