Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Trench, Conduit, and Electrical Box Installer, where you will play a vital role in the installation and maintenance of underground utilities and electrical systems. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors on construction sites, ensuring the safe and efficient installation of electrical infrastructure. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, conduit placement, and electrical box installation will help power communities and support essential utility services. Duties Excavate trenches using heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, and bucket trucks to prepare for conduit and electrical box installation Install underground utilities including conduit runs, water systems, and pipeline infrastructure with attention to safety protocols and precise measurements Securely install electrical boxes and conduit systems ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards Perform cable pulling and cabling tasks for low voltage and high voltage electrical systems, including fiber splicing where applicable Conduct routine equipment maintenance on tools and machinery like power tools, rigging gear, bucket trucks, and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal operation Follow utility locating procedures to avoid underground hazards during excavation activities Adhere strictly to safety protocols including climbing safety measures, manual handling techniques, and proper ladder use during installation processes Assist with welding, mechanical repairs, and routine maintenance of construction equipment as needed Participate in on-call coverage for emergency repairs or urgent utility installations outside regular hours Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, and other construction equipment Strong knowledge of underground utilities installation including conduit placement, cabling (low voltage/high voltage), and electrical box setup Familiarity with fiber splicing techniques and water system or pipeline installation is a plus Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, rigging gear, and maintenance tools Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques Experience working outdoors on construction sites within the energy & utilities sector is highly preferred Knowledge of safety standards related to utility work including climbing safety, trench shoring, hazard recognition, and safety protocol adherence Valid commercial truck driving license or ability to operate various utility vehicles as required Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments Join us in building reliable infrastructure that powers communities!
