Management Trainee Job Description

OVERVIEW

: The Management Trainee position will be an entry-level salaried role that will prepare the holder for a supervisory position in Operations or the Live Production area of the complex.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

: Familiarizing self with the different aspects of the operation over the course of six months in preparation for a job assignment. Analyze, evaluate, and report on the different areas of operation assigned during the training process. Assuming responsibilities over assigned work areas under the leadership and guidance of a mentor. Champion for company-wide safety programs and initiatives. This is a Leader of People position with required competencies: Sizing up People, Delegation, Planning, Customer Focus, and Conflict Management.

REQUIREMENTS

: Detail-oriented, structured, and able to communicate effectively, must possess demonstrated ability to work within timelines and in pressured situations. Strong problem solving, and decision-making skills, excellent follow-through on assigned tasks required for this position, must be able to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities. User-level experience with common problem-solving tools. Leadership ability, and communication skills sufficiently strong to communicate and interact effectively within all levels within the organization. Proficient English language knowledge and skills (oral and written). Effective interpersonal communication skills. Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs including MS Word and Excel. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Ability to handle and resolve most issues independently. Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character. High work capacity, dependable, results-oriented, and strong sense of urgency.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of an Associate's Degree completed in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

When in a plant environment: Position may require occasional Lift up to 50 pounds. Bending, twisting, climbing, stacking, pushing, and walking for long periods of time. Extraneous situations may arise for which additional physical demands may be required. Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. It is necessary that candidates have the capacity to remain calm, considerate, and tactful under unanticipated situations. Occasionally work nights, weekends, holidays, and/ or long shifts. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. Subject to odors and areas with moderate to extreme levels of noise ranging from 50 dB to 110 dB. May be exposed to dust, feathers, and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
