Job Description

Job Overview Reviving Dawn builds furniture-quality inset cabinetry and fine furniture for homes across Athens, Oconee County, Lake Oconee and North Georgia. Kitchens, vanities, built-ins, wet bars, stairs and millwork, plus a growing line of custom furniture and beds. We are a small shop, and everything that leaves it has my name on it. We have more work booked than we can build. I am hiring two people right now: this position and a shop hand. What you will be doing Building inset cabinetry and furniture from shop drawings and cut lists. Milling and machining parts, building face frames, doors and drawer boxes, and assembling finished casework to a standard you would put your own name on. Depending on what you bring, finishing and installation as well. You will work alongside two craftsmen and me. What I am looking for You have built inset cabinetry and can hold a consistent reveal across a run You can work from a plan, a shop drawing and a cut list without being followed around You are comfortable setting up and running a table saw, jointer, planer, shaper or router table, and a Domino or equivalent You assemble carefully. Square, flat and tight the first time. You care whether it is right What moves you to the top of the list Fit with how we work. A team player, a hard worker, a self starter. Someone who does fine work and brings a good attitude to the shop every day. This matters more to me than any skill on this list. Spray finishing Installation in finished and occupied homes Working directly with clients, designers or builders, carrying a project from drawing to punch list Fine furniture experience Woodturning. If you run a lathe, tell me about it. What we offer $28 to $34 an hour, depending on what you bring through the door Paid holidays and paid time off Overtime at time and a half, with notice, not as a surprise on Friday Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 4:30, thirty-minute unpaid lunch and two paid breaks A shop small enough that the standard is the whole point To apply Answer the questions below.
