Job Description

About us J & J Cabinet Works is a small business in Owatonna, MN. Locally owned and operated for over 20 years. Combind experience of over 40 years in wood-working. Our work environment is professional and allows you to help manage your own workload. We work as a team and independantly in our shop on a daily basis. We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Finisher to join our team. As a Cabinet Finisher, you will be responsible for applying finishes such as stain or paint to cabinets and other woodworking projects. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail and a strong understanding of woodworking techniques. Experience in cabinet finishing or wood-working is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for finishing by sanding, filling, and repairing imperfections
  • Apply stains, paints, varnishes, or other finishes to cabinets and woodworking projects
  • Use various tools and equipment such as brushes, sprayers, or rollers to apply finishes
  • Ensure that finishes are applied evenly and smoothly
  • Inspect finished cabinets for quality and make any necessary touch-ups or repairs
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Cabinet Finisher or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and materials
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to cabinet finishing
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team We would enjoy having you as part of our team.
