Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Crate Builder & Repair position is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining wooden crates and packaging materials used for shipping and storage. This role ensures all crates meet quality, safety, and customer specifications while supporting efficient production operations.

Role and ResponsibilitiesBuild custom wooden crates, pallets, and packaging structures according to specifications, blueprints, or work ordersRepair damaged crates and pallets to restore structural integrity and usabilityMeasure, cut, and assemble wood materials using hand and power tools (saws, nail guns, drills, etc.)Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirementsRead and interpret basic drawings, dimensions, and instructionsMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standardsOperate equipment such as forklifts (if certified) to move materials and finished goodsIdentify and report material shortages, defects, or equipment issuesFollow all company safety policies and procedures Qualifications and EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in woodworking, construction, manufacturing, or a similar role preferredAbility to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectivelyBasic math skills (measuring, cutting, fractions)Ability to read a tape measure accuratelyForklift certification (or willingness to obtain) preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 5075 lbs regularlyProlonged standing, bending, and repetitive motionAbility to work in a warehouse or production environment
