Pay depends on experience, ability, driving record, and tools Additional job-completion bonuses available Full-time; overtime and frequent out-of-town work should be expected We are looking for a junior installer or experienced helper who wants to become a capable millwork installer. This is not a zero-experience general-labor position. You do not need to be ready to run an installation by yourself, but you should already have experience with basic carpentry, trim, cabinets, doors, millwork, or shop fabrication. You should know how to use common tools, read a tape accurately, follow measurements, and work without being watched every minute. We will train the right person in more advanced installation, fabrication, and assembly work.
What you will be doing:
Loading, unloading, carrying, and staging millwork Helping check materials against plans and room locations Measuring, cutting, fitting, leveling, shimming, and fastening material Assisting with cabinets, casework, doors, jambs, trim, panels, stair parts, and other custom woodwork Keeping tools, materials, and work areas organized Protecting finished work and cleaning up before leaving the job Learning to complete portions of an installation independently Working in our shop on fabrication and assembly when no installation is scheduled What we are looking for: Some hands-on carpentry, millwork, cabinet, door, trim, or woodworking experience Accurate use of a tape measure, square, level, drill, and impact driver Willingness to learn and accept correction Willingness to travel out of town frequently Willingness to work long days when the installation schedule requires it Reliable attendance and the ability to arrive ready to work Ability to lift and carry millwork safely A good driving record is a strong plus A CDL is a bonus Applicants with their own basic tools will receive strong preference. Useful tools include a drill, impact driver, tape measure, square, level, drill bits, hand tools, and similar everyday installation equipment. Tell us what you already own when applying.
Travel and schedule:
Out-of-town work is a regular part of this job. Install days may involve early starts, long days, and occasional schedule changes based on site conditions. Passenger travel time is normally paid for one leg of the trip. Employees assigned to drive are paid for required driving time. All travel time will be handled in accordance with applicable wage law.
Pay and incentives:
This position receives a guaranteed hourly base rate plus the opportunity to earn installation bonuses. Bonuses are based on helping the crew complete the assigned work efficiently, accurately, and without avoidable return trips. We do not reward rushed or careless work. The goal is to finish the job—not simply collect hours—but the work still has to be done correctly. Delays caused by missing materials, changes, other trades, or a jobsite that is not ready will not be counted against the crew. Employees who learn quickly and become able to complete installation work independently will have room to move into the experienced-installer pay range.
