JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, perform skilled work in construction, alteration, repair, and installation of fixtures, buildings, and structures throughout the District. Maintain District structures and furniture in attractive and safe conditions. DUTIES and

RESPONSIBILITIES

Construct cabinets. Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Help keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition. Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call/stand-by as assigned by supervisor. Maintain confidentiality. Regular attendance. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of three years of commercial and/or residential cabinet construction and plastic laminate installation

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas driving license

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Good communication skills, verbal and written Ability to read and understand blueprints Ability to carry out written and verbal instructions Knowledge of cabinet construction, installation and millwork manufacturing Ability to measure and perform mathematical computations Ability to draw prints and make material lists and price quotes Basic computer skills

Light truck or van. Power tools (drill, saw, etc.), hand tools.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds above head. Exposed to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline and diesel fuel. Frequent district wide travel.
