Orlando, FL Position Summary:
The Crystal Process Engineering Technician supports the Crystal Engineering team by performing technical tasks related to crystal testing, equipment maintenance, process evaluation, and documentation. This role requires hands-on involvement with multiple disciplines and contributes to ensuring the efficiency and reliability of crystal production processes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Test various crystal products (i.
e:
Filter crystals, discrete, monolithic, MRW versions as well as round blank crystals. Repairs crystal process equipment and ensures equipment uptime. Performs preventative maintenance tasks on key crystal processing equipment like vacuum systems, pumps, compressors, etc. Performs screening and qualification processes such as G-sensitivity, phase noise, vibration, shock, thermal shock, etc. Creates and updates production documentation and/or procedures assigned. Updates production level equipment and test systems as required Performs data collection and work towards statistical evaluation of processes .
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Hands-on role requiring collaboration across multiple disciplines. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with various hand tools. Understanding of vacuum pumps, compressors, and related system preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work cohesivity in a team environment Experiences performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and process data collection Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
Education, Experience and Training:
Associates degree or technical certification in Engineering technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related technical field is preferred. 1-3 years of technical experience is desired. Hands-on experience in crystal manufacturing, semiconductor processing, or precision equipment operation is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required. Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, machine controls, and measuring instruments. Ability to safely climb, descend, and work from ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms at verifying heights. Work is performed in a combination of office and manufacturing environments. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and related by-products.
