Responsible for assuring production readiness of all powder coaters. Assisting Powder Coating personnel with training, and troubleshooting to maintain quality and production standards.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists Production Supervisor in monitoring Associates in order to achieve or exceed Powder Coating production requirements. 2. Assigns Associates to proper workstations and helps arrange replacements for absenteeism. 3. Assists Operator as needed. 4. Able to meet all qualifications and perform the task of Powder Coater Operator in order to fill in for absent Powder Coating Operators. 5. Ensures operator personnel perform quality checks per documented procedures. 6. Communicates (with supervision and scheduling) the need for maintenance, clean-up, etc. 7. Trains Powder Coating Associates. 8. Performs material handling, load or unload for absentee or during lunch/breaks, cleaning, dust collectors, etc., as required to ensure continuous production. 9. Operates stand-up forklift, sit-down forklift, scissor lift, and pallet jack when necessary. 10. Performs preventive maintenance per schedules, as required. 11. Maintains the dust collector room, including but not limited to, waste powder recycling, cleaning, and changing filters when needed. 12. Communicates with Plantwide Material Handler to coordinate production scheduling for department. 13. Communicates with oncoming shift concerning issues or problems. 14. Assist Maintenance with major machine repairs. 15. Ensures all parts are in inventory such as belts, powder, boxes, machine parts. 16. Performs all functions required in SAP. 17. Comply with Lockout/Tagout procedures. 18. Maintain 5S standards. 19. Disposes of waste and recyclables in proper container. 20. Performs all safety checks (forklift and machine). 21. Assist in 4DX meetings, in absence of Supervisor or Lead. 22. Meets company's attendance standards. 23. Perform other duties, as requested or required.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
Demonstrates practical mechanical skills and high level of hand/eye coordination. Capable of standing for long periods of time and frequent bending and stooping throughout the defined shift. Ability to work with various tools used in repairing machines. High decision-making and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to operate a stand-up forklift, sit-down forklift, and pallet jack. Capable of frequently climbing stairs Moderate decision-making and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to lift up to eighty (80) pounds. Capable of working alone Able to effectively verbally communicate with team members. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing facility. Moderate noise level. Must wear ear plugs, steel toe shoes, and safety glasses with permanent side shields. Dusty environment.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. On-the-job, in-house training must be completed. Must be able to demonstrate skillful use and knowledge of hand tools for machine repair and adjustment. An Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/H/V
