•$28 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Teamwork Attention to detail Steel Mechanical troubleshooting Full Job Description The CNC Aerospace Machinist is responsible for operating CNC 2-axis and 3-axis lathes to produce high-precision aerospace components according to blueprints and work instructions. The role involves machine setup, production machining, in-process inspections, and troubleshooting. The machinist will ensure that parts meet quality specifications, adhere to production schedules, and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Machine Operation:
o Operate CNC 2-axis and 3-axis lathes to produce aerospace components, ensuring that work is performed accurately and efficiently by the blueprints provided and work instructions. Set up machines for production runs, adjust machine settings, and perform initial test runs to ensure that the machining process is correct.
Production Lot Machining:
Machine components for production loss as required, following the production schedule and adjusting the machining process as necessary to meet specifications. o Ensure that machine operations are carried out smoothly and without delays, optimizing machine output and quality.
Inspection and Quality Control:
Perform regular inspections of machined components to ensure conformance to blueprints, work instructions, and in-process inspection standards. Utilize mechanical inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify that parts meet the required specifications. Document any non-conformance or quality issues and report them to the production control team for resolution. Collaboration with
Team:
Work closely with department leaders and production control to ensure alignment with the production schedule and resolve any issues that may arise during the manufacturing process. o Communicate effectively with other machinists, quality control staff, and production management to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure they are functioning properly, including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacements as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve basic machining issues, such as tool wear, alignment, or programming errors, to minimize downtime and ensure quality production.
Workplace Organization and Safety:
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and practices to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Ensure that all tools, materials, and machines are properly stored and maintained.
Documentation and Reporting:
Accurately record machining and inspection data, including machine settings, inspection results, and production logs. Document any issues, changes to the production process, or corrective actions taken, and report these to the appropriate team members.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand the required specifications for each part.
Machine Proficiency:
Demonstrated proficiency in operating CNC 2-axis and 3-axis lathes, with an understanding of CNC programming and machine setup.
Inspection Skills:
Proficient in using mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify part dimensions and quality. Attention to

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). Stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks. Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a machine shop environment, with exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and potential safety hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be always worn. M-F 6 am
