Role:
Calrod Engineering in Costa Mesa, CA is looking for a skilled CNC Lathe/Mill Set Up Operator to join their precision machining team. If you have a passion for craftsmanship, tight tolerances, and keeping production running smoothly, this is the opportunity for you. Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC lathe and milling machines for production and prototype runs Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications Select and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs to ensure accurate and efficient machining Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) Must be able to check your own parts
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in CNC lathe and/or mill set up and operation Proficiency with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Mazak, or Haas Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Experience with precision measurement tools and quality inspection processes Solid understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, and machining best practices Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality parts Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment Spanish speaking is a
