Job Description
CNC Operators Wanted in Sussex County, DE Candidates with prior experience in steel fabrication/metal industry are preferred.

$24-27/hour + Weekly Pay! We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to operate a CNC plasma, shear, and saw equipment used to cut steel and metal products to precise customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or steel processing environment and possess strong measurement skills, including the ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure. Responsibilities Operate shear and saw machinery to cut metal materials according to work orders and production specifications. Accurately read and interpret tape measures, blueprints, cut lists, and production documents. Measure, mark, and verify material dimensions before and after cutting to ensure accuracy and quality standards. Set up and adjust equipment based on material type, thickness, and required dimensions. Inspect finished materials for quality, dimensional accuracy, and defects. Load, unload, and move raw materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment (as authorized). Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and quality discrepancies to supervisors. Meet daily production goals while maintaining high quality standards. Essential Skills Previous experience operating manufacturing or production equipment. Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform measurements down to 1/16" or smaller tolerances. Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, squares, and gauges. Ability to read and understand work orders, production instructions, and basic blueprints. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and moving materials. Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and conversions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience operating CNC Machines, Plasmas, shears, band saws, cold saws, or similar cutting equipment. Experience in the metal fabrication, steel processing, structural steel, or manufacturing industry. Forklift and/or overhead crane experience. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and production environments. Work Environment The shop is not temperature-controlled and includes machine operators, welders, and material handlers/laborers. Apply now for an immediate interview! Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenwood, DE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
