Job Description

TRAX Automation is a growing manufacturer in the Northwest Suburbs of the Twin Cities, specializing in CNC Swiss work. We are proud to be a family owned and operated small business.
JOB DESCRIPTION
CNC Machinist Sets-up, operates, and verifies the quality of work on a wide variety of Swiss CNC machines. Performs routine or repetitive operations in a manner which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards. Actively participates in continuous improvement activities.
SCHEDULE
2ND
SHIFT, M-F OR M-TH ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
(list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded as needed) Performs repeat set-ups without supervision. May perform more complex set-ups with supervision. Work with machines such as Mazak, Star, Miyano and others. Troubleshoots routine jobs without supervision and more complex jobs with supervision. Works from drawings and/or specifications. Responsible for tooling changes and adjustments to ensure quality product. Select and align tooling, fixtures and attachments for machining. Perform in-process inspection of own work while running machine. Complete required paperwork/documentation. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges to verify part dimensions. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely and complies with all established safety rules and work practices. Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High school education or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
3+ years of Swiss machine set-up and operating experience in a job shop environment.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH
Lift up to 40 pounds.
SKILLS ABILITIES
Very strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
Ability to read prints and use measuring instruments.
