Job Description

CNC Lathe Operator Position Type:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30
PM Compensation:
$17.00/hour Job Summary We are seeking a CNC Lather Operator. Operators prepare machinery, load raw materials, monitor active production cycles, and inspect finished pieces to ensure they match exact engineering specifications. This role requires attention to detail, strict adherence to safety standards, and standard machine maintenance.
Core Duties and Responsibilities Machine Setup :
Mount, install, align, and secure cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures using manual tools.
Blueprint Reading :
Interpret blueprints, technical sketches, engineering drawings, understand part dimensions and tolerances.
Quality Assurance :
Measure and verify finished parts against specifications using precision instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Troubleshooting & Edits :
Recognize errors, listen for mechanical issues (like dull tools), and adjust machine offsets or settings to correct deviations.
Key Skills and Qualifications Technical Knowledge :
Familiarity with CNC machinery (mills, lathes, routers) and basic understanding of G-code/M-code programming.
Mechanical Aptitude :
Strong hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and critical thinking skills for handling equipment.
Physical Stamina :
Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and stand for extended periods during an 8-hour shift. Workspace & Environment Factory or machine shop settings that require personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
