PURPOSE:
As a team member of the manufacturing shop, a Production Machine Operator assists the welders in building helical screw piles by operating the Plasma Machines to cut various diameters of pipe and plate to specifications given and supply welding line with product for manufacturing. Coordinates with all manufacturing staff for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently and effectively. Assists other team members as required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
DUTIES:
Set up and operate a CNC milling machine to drill holes in steel piles, collars, and related components. Load, position, align, and securely clamp materials before machining. Select and install the correct drill bits, tooling, fixtures, and machine programs. Read and interpret fabrication drawings, work orders, dimensions, and hole patterns. Verify hole locations, diameters, spacing, and tolerances using measuring tools. Perform first-piece inspections and regularly inspect parts during production. Make basic machine adjustments to maintain accuracy and product quality. Monitor tooling condition and replace worn or damaged tooling as required. Identify and report drawing, material, tooling, or equipment issues. Complete production and quality-control documentation. Perform routine machine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance. Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Assist with other manufacturing and shop duties as required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous CNC mill, drill press, machining, or industrial manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience drilling or machining steel pipe and heavy steel components is an asset. Ability to read fabrication drawings, measurements, and hole-pattern layouts. Ability to use tape measures, calipers, micrometers, squares, and other inspection tools. Basic understanding of CNC machine controls, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to identify quality issues and make basic machine adjustments. Ability to safely handle large and heavy materials. Reliable attendance and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Forklift and overhead-crane experience is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
