Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, creating CNC programs, and ensuring the effective operation of CNC machinery. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineering teams to optimize performance. Responsibilities Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and design models. Use CAD/CAM software, such as Mastercam and SolidWorks, to create CNC programs. Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each job. Set up CNC machines and conduct test runs to verify program accuracy. Modify existing programs to improve efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers. Maintain documentation of CNC programs and machine specifications. Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and make minor repairs. Collaborate with engineers and machinists to resolve setup and performance issues. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment. Essential Skills Proficiency in CAD/CAM software. Strong understanding of machining processes and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or vocational/technical school equivalent. 0-3 years of experience in CNC programming and machine operation. Work Environment Work in a dynamic manufacturing facility that is non-climate controlled. The position operates on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Employees are entitled to a 15-minute break, a 30-minute lunch, and an additional 15-minute break. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
