In this role, you will be responsible for developing, programming, and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining processes to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge CAD/CAM software in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC lathes and 5-axis CNC machines, using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent tools. Interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure accurate machining. Set up machining tools and fixtures on CNC machines, including CNC milling machines and electrical discharge machining equipment. Optimize machining processes by implementing lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part quality against specifications. Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, geometry, or programming errors; adjust programs accordingly for optimal performance. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and quality control records to ensure traceability and continuous improvement. Experience Proven experience programming CNC machinery such as CNC lathes, milling machines (including 5-axis), or similar equipment in a manufacturing setting. Strong proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks or CATIA and CAM programming tools for efficient toolpath generation. Familiarity with Fanuc controls and other common CNC controller systems. Knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and GD&T standards to accurately translate designs into machine instructions. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in metal machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM). Understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies to streamline operations and enhance productivity. Experience with measurement techniques involving calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measurement instruments.
