Job Description
Programs, sets up, operates, and inspects CNC mills and lathes used to produce low-volume, close-tolerance precision components. Job Requirements At least 3 years of CNC programming and machining experience Experience programming CNC mills and lathes using Fusion 360 CAM Ability to independently set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines Experience machining complex, close-tolerance components Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work orders Knowledge of tooling selection, workholding, fixturing, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies Experience adjusting machine and tool offsets Experience troubleshooting tooling, setup, dimensional, and machining-process issues Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment Experience performing first-article, in-process, and final inspections Ability to perform machining calculations and shop mathematics Ability to work overtime during evenings or weekends as required Preferred Skills Experience with Fanuc controls Aerospace machining experience CMM programming and inspection experience Experience designing or building custom fixtures and tooling Welding and fabrication experience Forklift operating experience Experience machining exotic engineering materials Experience supporting prototype and low-volume production Job Responsibilities Program CNC mills and lathes using Fusion 360 CAM Create and modify CNC programs for production and prototype components Set up and operate CNC machining centers and lathes Review blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work orders Select cutting tools, workholding devices, and machining parameters Determine and adjust feeds, speeds, tool paths, and offsets Design, modify, or build fixtures and tooling as required Machine close-tolerance components from standard and exotic engineering materials Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, dimensional, and surface-finish issues Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections Inspect parts using precision measuring and metrology equipment Verify dimensions, tolerances, and geometric requirements Complete production documentation and maintain quality records Support process improvements involving cycle time, tool life, quality, and production stability Coordinate machining requirements with production and engineering personnel Maintain CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, and work areas Follow applicable quality, equipment, and workplace safety procedures
