opening 2. This is a senior-level role responsible for programming, setting up, and operating large-format, multi-axis CNC equipment to machine complex turbine components to tight tolerances. The role will begin on 2nd shift with the intention of transitioning to 1st shift as the position develops. Key Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate the Soraluce 5-axis machining center for complex turbine and power generation components. Develop and optimize CNC programs (G-code and/or CAM-based programming) for multi-axis machining operations. Read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings to plan machining sequences and setups. Select and set appropriate tooling, work-holding, and fixturing for large, high-value workpieces. Perform first-article inspection and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments. Troubleshoot and resolve complex machining issues, including tool paths, offsets, and material-specific challenges. Partner with engineering and quality teams on part programs, process improvements, and cycle-time optimization. Mentor less experienced operators on 5-axis setup and programming best practices as needed. Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and job routing. Follow all plant safety protocols while operating large-format CNC equipment. Qualifications 10+ years of CNC set-up and programming experience, including 5-axis machining. Direct experience programming and operating Soraluce equipment strongly preferred. Advanced blueprint reading and precision measurement skills. Strong troubleshooting ability on large, complex, high-value components. Willingness to start on 2nd shift with the understanding this role may transition to 1st shift. Prior experience in turbine, power generation, or heavy industrial machining a plus.
Pay:
Up to $45.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
