This is not an entry-level position. The successful candidate must be able to independently review customer drawings, develop machining strategies, create Mastercam programs, select tooling, design fixtures, troubleshoot manufacturing problems, and support new jobs through a successful production launch. This position works closely with management, quality, production personnel, machine operators, customers, and suppliers. The ideal candidate will combine strong CNC programming skills with practical shop-floor machining experience and a continuous-improvement mindset. Primary Responsibilities Create, verify, modify, and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam. Develop machining processes for new and existing production work. Review customer drawings, solid models, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements. Determine the appropriate machine, workholding method, tooling, material size, feeds, speeds, and sequence of operations. Program CNC horizontal and vertical machining centers. Design, develop, build, and implement machining fixtures and workholding solutions. Create setup instructions, tool lists, operation sheets, and production documentation. Support machine setups, firstpiece production, inspection, and process validation. Troubleshoot programming, tooling, fixture, quality, cycletime, and machining issues. Determine root causes of manufacturing problems and implement effective corrective actions. Estimate cycle times, tooling requirements, fixture costs, and material requirements. Review product designs for manufacturability, completeness, quality, and profitability. Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, tool life, process capability, productivity, and manufacturing cost. Design or specify special cutting tools and obtain supplier quotations when needed. Determine and order cutting tools, holders, collets, and other machining supplies. Maintain organized CNC program, CAD/CAM, tooling, fixture, and engineering files. Inspect and measure machined components using precision measuring equipment. Train machine operators and setup personnel on loading, inspection, deburring, tool changes, offsets, and machining requirements. Provide technical machining support to quality, production, estimating, and management personnel. Maintain KrisDee's quality, safety, housekeeping, and documentation standards. Perform other related responsibilities assigned by the General Manager. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least three years of professional CNC programming experience. At least three years of experience using Mastercam in a production machining environment. Strong experience programming CNC milling machines. Experience machining aluminum, steel, cast iron, and other ferrous and nonferrous materials. Experience selecting cutting tools, holders, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies. Experience designing and implementing machining fixtures and workholding. Ability to independently take a part from customer print or model through production launch. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T. Strong knowledge of shop mathematics and machining fundamentals. Ability to use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment. Ability to identify outoftolerance conditions and determine appropriate corrective action. Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills. Ability to communicate clearly with machine operators, inspectors, management, customers, and suppliers. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other computer applications. Authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Five or more years of CNC programming experience. Experience programming horizontal machining centers. Experience with multipallet or production machining environments. Experience programming Makino or similar CNC machining centers. Experience machining complex hydraulic manifolds, castings, or closetolerance production components. Experience with fixture design, probing, tombstone workholding, and multioperation machining. Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISObased quality systems. Experience with lean manufacturing, setup reduction, cycletime improvement, and toolingcost reduction. Experience estimating machining cycle times and manufacturing costs. Work Environment This position works in both an office and manufacturing environment. The employee may be exposed to moving machinery, cutting fluids, chemical solvents, airborne particles, vibration, and elevated noise levels. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to: Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. Use hands and fingers to operate computers, measuring equipment, tools, and machinery. Communicate effectively in an active manufacturing environment. Maintain close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, including the ability to adjust focus. Occasionally lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Work Schedule This is a full-time, first-shift position. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be available or required based on production demands, customer requirements, and project schedules.
