Key Responsibilities Programming & Setup:

Review blueprints/GD&T to determine machining methods. Develop, prove out, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software. Set up tooling, work holding, offsets, and machine adjustments.

Quality & Documentation:

Verify setups through first-piece inspection and measurement. Create and maintain setup sheets, approved CNC programs, and process-control documentation under strict revision control.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance:

Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, and programming issues. Perform preventive maintenance, monitor supply needs, and order replacement tooling.

Mentorship & Communication:

Train and mentor junior operators, setup personnel, and interns. Proactively communicate process changes, irregularities, and corrective actions to management.

Safety & Compliance:

Maintain clean, orderly work areas. Strictly adhere to ISO quality, ITAR, CMMC, information security, and workplace safety regulations.

Qualifications Experience:

5+ years setting up and operating Citizen and Star Swiss-type CNC lathes.

Technical Skills:

Expert in blueprint reading, GD&T, cutting tools, speeds/feeds, work holding, and inspection practices. Strong mathematical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Software:

Proficient in CNC programming and CAD/CAM software ( ESPRIT experience is highly desirable ). Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational, technical, apprenticeship, or machining-program training preferred.

Work Style:

Independent, organized, team-oriented, and capable of managing shifting priorities to meet production goals. Physical Requirements Ability to stand regularly and move throughout the work area. Handle small parts and tools, and lift/move items weighing up to 40 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity (with or without correction) to read technical drawings, operate controls, and inspect fine surface/dimensional details.
