Summary/objective:
Steel Craft Technologies (SCT) is seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their team in Grand Rapids, MI! The CNC Programmer/Machinist produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine Essential functions: Interpret Cad drawings and solid models Generate documentation for set up sheets, programs, inspection reports and offline work sheets. Generate and post tool paths with CAM software Download programs and MDI (Manual Data Input) as needed. Setup and machine to the proper programs and tolerances required. Recheck setups, change cutters and inserts, and make adjustments as needed to achieve the best possible results. Maintain appropriate tools and keep current on calibration. Keep work area clean. Follow all safety rules and report unsafe work conditions to management. Regular attendance at work during scheduled work hours. Employees may be requested to perform other job functions as required. Operate overhead cranes Required competency, education, and experience: Experience with 3 axis mills A well rounded knowledge of cutters and inserts, and feeds/speeds. Candidate must have high school or equivalent education. Candidate must have valid driver's license Two years of machining experience Two years programming experience using a Cam software Preferred education and experience: Experience with multi axis mills and probing Five years of machining experience Five years programming experience using Fusion 360 or similar Cam software Work environment: Manufacturing environment Physical demands: Candidate must have full use of all limbs. Candidate must be able to read and speak English. Candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds. Position type and expected hours of work: Full time. Monday through Thursday 5:00 am - 5:15 pm.
