Job Description
Love turning complex prints into flawless deep bores? Do you enjoy taking a challenging blueprint, programming a clean toolpath, and watching a first article pass CMM with flying colors? Are you at home on a UNISIG gundrill and comfortable tweaking G-code to get surface finish and straightness just right? If yes, read on. Your impact Own the setup and operation of CNC gundrill machines to meet demanding specs and safety standards. Create and refine CNC programs with CAM, improving cycle time, chip evacuation, and hole quality. Translate prints and GD&T into accurate machining strategies. Verify critical features using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment. Troubleshoot and maintain CNC assets—plus support CNC lathe and mill operations using Fanuc controls. Choose the right tooling and setups for plastics and metal substrates. Conduct in-process checks and final inspections to ensure conformance. Champion lean improvements to reduce waste and boost throughput. Jump in with assembly tasks as needed using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Keep the work area organized and compliant with all safety procedures. What you'll bring to the table Experience running CNC gundrill machinery; UNISIG background is a strong plus. Comfortable writing/editing G-code and leveraging CAM. Confident in blueprint reading with GD&T application. Mechanical savvy with fixtures, tooling choices, and process flow. EDM familiarity is beneficial. Ability to review part models and drawings in SolidWorks or comparable CAD. Solid math skills to handle tolerances and measurement conversions. Awareness of diverse manufacturing settings; plastics injection molding exposure is advantageous.
Proficient with precision metrology:
micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs. Lean mindset focused on efficiency and continuous improvement.Preferred:
valid forklift certification for materials movement. Team-first attitude; comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
