Job Description

We are seeking a Senior CNC Programmer with advanced, hands-on machining expertise to lead programming, setup, and manufacturing process optimization. In this role, you will define machine programming, select cutting tools, and establish efficient manufacturing processes for next-generation transmissions used in U.S. Army tracked combat vehicles. You will work closely with engineering specifications and shop floor teams to maximize cycle efficiency and eliminate downtime.
Key Responsibilities NC/CNC Programming:
Create, implement, and refine G-code and CAM programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers as well as mill-turn equipment.
Component Machining:
Program complex multi-axis processes specifically for transmission housings, covers, piston housings, gears, and splines.
Setup & Commissioning:
Perform direct CNC machine setups and support the commissioning of new CNC machinery on the shop floor.
Process Optimization:
Apply GD&T principles and lean manufacturing practices to optimize tool life, reduce waste, improve cycle times, and maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Tooling & PLM Integration:
Utilize Siemens Teamcenter Manufacturing Resource Library to manage Bills of Materials/Processes and define cutting tools. Oversee cutting tool performance and vendor coordination.
Floor Collaboration:
Work directly with machinists and shop floor personnel to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve quality, programming, or machining issues.
Qualifications & Requirements Machining Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on CNC machining experience across both turning (lathe) and milling operations.
CAM Software Proficiency:
Minimum 5-7 years of CNC programming experience utilizing Siemens NX , Mastercam , or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
Technical Blueprint & GD&T Skills:
Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, process flows, technical specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
G-Code & Measurement:
Expert knowledge of G-code programming, setup procedures, and manual precision measurement tools (micrometers, bore gauges, depth gauges).
Materials Expertise:
Proven track record machining aluminum, mild steels, alloy steels, and stainless steel.
PLM Systems:
Experience with Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
Preferred:
Advanced Renishaw probe programming experience.
Pay:
$100,000.00 per year
