Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Lathe Machinist, working on 1st and 2nd shifts to produce high-precision metal components. Duties Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, ensuring precise machining of metal parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications Program CNC lathes using G-code and M-code, Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements Perform machine calibration, tooling setup, and adjustments to optimize performance and part quality Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments for quality control Troubleshoot machining issues, perform manual machining when necessary, and maintain machine maintenance logs Ensure adherence to safety protocols, lean manufacturing principles, and quality standards throughout the production process Skills Proficiency in CNC G-code programming and M-code for lathe operations. Set-up, operate and monitor CNC Swiss machines and Mazak lathes Experience with Mazatrol controls or similar conversational programming systems is a plus Skilled in CAD design software such as SolidWorks and general blueprint reading including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles Familiarity with machining tools, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling management Experience with live tooling and Y-Axis machining Demonstrate strong attention to detail Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and mechanical blueprint interpretation skills Ability to perform basic math calculations essential for precise machining tasks Experience with CNC milling machines alongside lathe operations is advantageous Knowledge of measurement techniques for quality assurance using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste Ability to set up machines accurately and perform CNC quality inspections effectively.
